Nintendo just showed off a bunch of Indie titles (Nindies) for the Switch coming this year in a Youtube presentation. While many of them I’m not so keen on, some do look like they have potential to be truly great games and it gives even more reason to buy a Switch.
The stream started with Steam World Dig 2 (bit of a yawn for me) and then went on to showcase some awesome titles. Here’s the full list:
SteamWorld Dig 2 (Summer 2017 release)
Yooka-Laylee (Coming soon this year)
Overcooked Special Edition (No date announced)
The Escapists 2 (Later this year)
Dandara (Summer 2017)
Kingdom Two Crowns (Out 2017)
Runner 3 (Coming soon)
Blaster Master Zero (March 9th)
Flipping Death (Coming soon)
Graceful Explosion Machine (April 2017)
Mr. Shifty (April 2017)
TumbleSeed (Spring 2017)
Shakedown: Hawaii (April)
Pocket Rumble (March 2017)
War Groove (Coming soon)
Stardew Valley (Summer)
Highlights for me include: Yooka-Laylee – a platform game that looks beautiful and fun to play but it is being launched on multiple consoles.
The Escapists 2 – Sequel to the brilliant Escapists will see more of the prison escaping game – but now portable thanks to the Switch.
Flipping Death – never heard of this before, but the artistic style and gameplay of being able to switch (Nintendo style) between worlds of living and the dead – sounds like fun to me!
Shakedown:Hawaii an open world 16 bit game that reminds me a lot of GTA, but looks more intelligent.
Pocket Rumble – a beat em up with old scholl graphics – yes please!
Stardew Valley looks like a wonderful farm em up – right up my street too.
I think it’s fantastic Nintendo are supporting so many indie titles – it means more content, choice of games and ultimately, the chance of some truly awesome gaming experiences. So what do you guys think? Which games stood out to you?
